I’m writing this apparently long-awaited update (hi, Scott) from my new compy, which is actually a lappy. I’ve been desiring a laptop for a long time, and now I have one. Is it all I thought it would be? I don’t know yet. I mean, I have yet to discover the joy of typing whilst watching television in the living room. I really need to get on that goal.

Anyway, my laptop is a PowerBook G4. Yes, I have converted from my previous religion of Windows. Yes, Windows has to be a religion because people adhere to it even though it clearly sucks. Blind faith. That’s what it takes to do that. (No, I’m not being anti-religion here. Just anti-religions that don’t make any sense at all. In fact, I would say I’m just anti-Microsoft. Though I still use Office. Man, I don’t even know what I really stand for. Just something that doesn’t offend you, ok?)

I am now a Mac user. Yes. This could suck as well, but I’m hoping it doesn’t. I really love my iPod, so maybe that love can extend to all things Apple.

I’m trying to think of a good name for my lappy so clearly most of my time nowadays is spent pondering that. No, I’m not getting rid of Rufus, my Dell, anytime soon. There’s a lot of stuff on him. And, well, we’ve been through a lot together. I just can’t do that to him.

Probably I wouldn’t get so attached to my computers if I didn’t name them. Especially if I didn’t give them dog names. But, well, I’m just compensating for lack of a real pet. And Buzz, my dear, dear cactus, please don’t get offended if you read this. I still love you. It’s just that we have one of those hands-off relationships, you know?

On an unrelated note, I hereby vow to (or at least try to) never joke about a tornado on campus ever again. Because after I told Alicia she could have the stuff in my desk and my jacket if I were to die in the storm while I was on the fourth floor of Ross (yeah, Alicia would’ve had to forage through the rubble–the jacket is worth that…and my stapler is pretty cool, too), there was apparently a tornado about fifty feet north of Ross Hall. I’m either really lucky or pretty unlucky. I don’t know which. Either way, I have a great jacket. And a new lappy. So I’m happy.
