Remember Rome? I don’t, at least not personally.

I had an okay day today, but I’m still quite convinced that civilization as we know it is going downhill. And with 10,000 reasons on the Internet, who am I to argue? I’m pretty sure that Mary-Kate and Ashley are a big reason for this. I’m not sure how, though. I think it might have to do with mass-marketing. Full House started it all, so I’m also thinking Bob Saget could be in on this.

On a slightly related note, I had a convo about that show today, and someone tried to convince that Danny and Joey were brothers on the show. Yay or nay? I think nay, but I haven’t bothered to look it up yet. A little question-answer never hurt you, right? If you’re wondering how this came up, well, let’s just say teaching composition brings up some odd issues. Like how they tried to avoid “gayness” on Full House. Serial dating was one of the methods brought up. How many different girlfriends did they have, anyway? Am I supposed to believe that many women wanted to date a guy like Danny? Really?

It’s really interesting, I think, that Danny had to have two buddies help him raise his kids. Obviously this is because men are incompetent. I mean, are there shows on television where the father is a single parent without ANY help? My Two Dads, Two and a Half Men…but there are shows with single mothers, albeit, not many good ones. Odd. Can you think of any I’m forgetting that prove me wrong? No wonder it’s so hard to believe a guy would stay home with his kids. It’s a good thing I don’t care about stereotypes…

  1. First of all, whoever tried to convince you that DDanny and Joey were brothers didn’t watch enough of the show. They were college roommates and some how Danny just couldn’t get rid of JOey even after he got married. and Jesse… he tried to move out a few times, but they couldn’t take him off the show at that point.

Remember Who’s the Boss? I think that Tony danza made a good single dad. And I think he did more of the raising than the stupid lady on the show, whose name I can’t really remember well. But maybe I’m mistaken. Maybe I’m just biased because Tony Danza is from cedar Rapids.

  2. ps Mary-Kate and Ashley are definately responsible for the demise of our society.

  3. Tony Danza is from Cedar Rapids?

  4. I think they’re trying to hide it because he’s got his little New Yorker thing going for him. But he went to the University of Dubuque, and I’m pretty sure he lived in Cedar Rapids for a spell.

Unrelated to that, I’ve been thinking about this topic, and I’m pretty sure I’d rather live with danny Taylor as a parent than the gilmore lady. She’s annoying.

  5. I’d definitely choose the Gilmore lady. Danny was just too big a geek. And too…heartfelt or something. I’d throw up a lot. And not from some crazy weight-loss addiction.
