Everytime I see “Utah,” I see the word “hat.” And it WON’T STOP.
I may live in Utah now, but I’m still trying to wrap my mind around this concept. Many times I just want to go home. Of course, in my mind home is Ames, but many of the people who I want to see there are actually not there anymore because they had the gall to go and graduate. Geez, people.
However, there are probably some good things about Utah besides money and a new graduate program in which I can spread my reign of terror, er, I mean…um…well, yeah, I DO mean terror, power, and all those other words that mean those sorts of things. I’m pretty sure this was in my application info, so they shouldn’t be too surprised.
So…other good things about Utah…well, there are Seven-Elevens here, which means that I can once again experience the joy of “The Slurpee.” Ah. A Mountain Dew slurpee, is there really a food item that can top that? Well, maybe a Mountain Dew slurpee with some unknown substances added to it. But I would never do that. Never. Besides, I can’t talk about it now because adding liquor, er, I mean unknown substances, to a drink is probably illegal here. I mean, just the other Sunday I had to drive to Idaho to buy some refreshments. Inconvenience!
With any luck, the mountains here will soon become less ugly and I’ll start to believe, I mean, REALIZE, that Utah was a good decision. Yes. I’m going to keep believing in this optimistic view for the time being. Yes. I AM.
