Television used to be my friend. I’m not sure what I did to offend it.

So I’m sitting here watching American Idol. And I don’t know why. I kind of hate this show. At least the early parts where people are routinely humiliated and I cringe a lot. You’d think I would like this sort of thing. But I prefer to mock people who aren’t so pathetic. At least not so pathetic AND on television AND being mocked by people who might be meaner than I am.

So why am I watching? Why don’t I get off the couch and do something else? Well, I could watch Idol or do my homework. I tried flipping around, but apparently nobody wants to compete with this show. I think America’s Funniest Home Videos or something very similar was on ABC. WTF? And no, I refuse to watch Gilmore Girls. I don’t know why exactly. I have to have SOME standards. Mostly I’m not doing my homework because I’m waiting around for House. I’m not that good at filling empty time with productive work.

However, one thing to be happy about: the neighbors are no longer singing karaoke in their garage (which connects to our living room via a very thin (apparently) wall. WHY?

Just seen on tv: fat white guy with an afro. Eh? Is this trendy or stylish or attractive in some way in which I’m unaware? And then, segue into…girls being bitchy! Apparently, according to Hollywood, women cannot compete without turning into bitches. I’m not sure about the veracity of this theme.
